IT service provider adesso has announced the creation of a subsidiary, Afida GmbH. The newest member of the adesso SE family will offer insurers a cloud-based platform for the cost-effective and efficient management of life insurance runoff policies. Afida will provide end-to-end policy management for insurers with runoff portfolios.

adesso is expanding its range of industry solutions and entering the sport market. adesso has enjoyed strong links to the sport industry for a number of years now, including as an official sponsor of Borussia Dortmund’s youth and women’s teams; IT partner to the club and to the German football association, DFB GmbH; and co-investor in sport streaming service Staige. Now the company is offering a tailor-made portfolio aimed at the sport industry, where adesso is able to draw on its 25 years of digitalisation expertise.

The “Business Model Life Insurance 2025 - 2030 – A European Perspective” study published by adesso insurance solutions and Versicherungsforen Leipzig forecasts the further development of the business model and offers guidance for the strategic orientation of life insurers.

adesso plans to become the sole shareholder of com2m GmbH. To date, the IT service provider has held a 59 % stake in the company. com2m has gained recognition as a digital transformation specialist with a focus on Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things (IoT), most recently generating sales of over EUR 3.5 million and an annual growth rate of more than 40 %. adesso will begin integrating the portfolio of the profitable business venture into the parent company with immediate effect as part of its range of innovative digitalisation strategies for the manufacturing sector.

adesso is further expanding its corporate venture activities in Europe by investing in High-Tech Gründerfonds IV. High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) is regarded as Europe’s most active early-stage investor, and its newest fund HTGF IV will have a total volume of more than EUR 400 million when launched in September 2022. adesso has become a co-shareholder in HTGF IV by investing a single-digit million sum, strengthening its commitment to supporting young tech start-ups through its incubator adesso ventures GmbH and accelerating its own innovation speed.

adesso is teaming up with SAP Fioneer as a partner in SAP business for financial services offered by banks and insurers. The two companies have signed an agreement providing for a close business relationship in the areas of sales, business development and marketing. In particular, adesso’s core industries of banking and insurance are set to benefit from the collaboration with the financial services specialist SAP Fioneer.

Former TV anchorman Claus Kleber, known to viewers in Germany as the host of the ZDF news programme “heute journal”, is scheduled to speak at adesso digital day in Düsseldorf on 2 June. In his keynote address entitled “How Silicon Valley Controls the Destiny of the Human Race”, the respected journalist will examine the significance of digitalisation for society as a whole. In addition to this highlight, speeches by experts and demonstrations of the latest IT solutions will offer a look at today’s most important IT and business issues. The event is geared towards decision makers from all industries.

Lünendonk & Hossenfelder has crowned the IT service provider adesso the winner in the Performance category at the 2022 Business-to-Business Service Awards. The Lünendonk Awards, which have been presented every year since 2011, also include the Innovation and Life’s Work categories. Stefan Riedel, member of adesso SE’s Executive Board, accepted the accolade on behalf of the company at a gala event in Frankfurt am Main yesterday evening.
