IT service provider adesso has successfully supported the energy group Uniper with the intro-duction of SAP S/4HANA Utilities. The go-live on 25 November 2024 marked an important milestone. Uniper is one of the first companies in the energy industry to work productively with the new platform in the market role of “supplier”. Uniper is taking an important step here on the path to digital transformation.

adesso and the German Handball Federation (Deutscher Handballbund, DHB) have reached an important milestone in the realignment of the DHB’s online presence. Just in time for the Handball World Cup 2025, which started on 14 January, the jointly developed new website dhb.de went online. Since then, it has inspired fans, players and officials alike. The two partners are thus finalising a crucial sub-project on the way to implementing the DHB’s new platform strategy. This is to be completed by the 2027 Men’s Handball World Championship in Germany.

Positive shopping experiences stick, meaning that customers become accustomed to them and expect them from all providers. Most companies are aware of this: according to a study by adesso, 95 percent want to invest in improving digital customer experiences over the next few years in order to retain or expand their customer base. Until now, many companies have often lacked the technological know-how for this and often lacked an accompanying customer centricity strategy. So far, only every second company has one.

The comprehensive use of data, the digitalisation of processes and AI-based assistance systems are paving the way for lean, integrated production systems – a basic prerequisite for increasing productivity and competitiveness.

The most common cause of hospitalisation in western industrialised nations? Cardiovascular diseases. The financial burden of cardiovascular patients on healthcare systems is enormous. Noah Labs co-founders Oliver Piepenstock, Marcus Hott, and Dr Leonhard Riehle are dedicated to alleviating the workload of cardiology practices and hospitals in Germany through AI-supported telemonitoring, while simultaneously enhancing the care provided to patients. The Noah Labs Ark software and the associated intelligent Connected Care platform enable comprehensive remote monitoring and management of chronic diseases based on classic vital parameters. The focus of the current application is on heart failure. However, high blood pressure and cardiac arrhythmia can also be monitored with the software. The solution received approval as a Class IIa medical device in accordance with the EU Medical Device Directive (MDR) in April 2024 and is already in use in numerous practices and clinics.

Provinzial is intensifying its long-standing collaboration with adesso and will use the insurance platform in|sure Ecosphere P&C as Software as a Service (SaaS) for the andsafe AG, S-Direkt Versicherung AG and ProTect Versicherung AG brands. The business models of these nationwide brands differ from those of the regional insurers within the Provinzial Corporate Group. Standardising the IT landscapes of the three companies enables them to leverage synergies and respond flexibly to market conditions in the direct, pool broker, and embedded business segments. Furthermore, leveraging cloud technology enables better scalability and more efficient responses to seasonal peaks, such as the car changeover period in November. This leads to a reduction in IT operating costs. The comprehensive transformation to the new SaaS operating model should be completed by the end of 2026.

Digital data spaces and data ecosystems are key to the development of resilient data-driven processes, from research and development to logistics and supply chain management. As a consortium partner in the “HealthTrack-X” project funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK), IT service provider adesso is developing a prototype data space for the healthcare sector that makes selected data available quickly and securely.

adesso continues to expand its international business. The German IT service provider has established its second subsidiary on the Arabian Peninsula this year with a new office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Burak Barı, Head of Global Business at adesso Group, will initially head up the management of adesso UAE as Managing Director. With this additional commitment in the Gulf region, adesso is underscoring its aspiration to establish itself as a major player in the rapidly growing MENA region (Middle East and Northern Africa). Its entry into this market is coupled with a strategic partnership with Seed Group, a company that facilitates seamless access for international businesses to the UAE's lucrative technology market.
