2. The consequences
Commercially, the Analytics portfolio will be aligned with and integrated into the already well-known and established SAP RISE offering. It will be easier for SAP customers and partners to respond flexibly to ad-hoc analytics requirements and to customise the configuration of components.
Technically, SAP is bringing AI and ML power directly ‘to’ the SAP data with the Databricks distribution. This significantly reduces the time needed to supply data to AI models and speeds up the return of AI results to the SAP Analytics domain.
SAP-managed data products make data and reports from other SAP SaaS solutions, such as SAP Success Factors and SAP Ariba, seamlessly usable. This eliminates the need for complex integration and transformation processes and operational tasks.
For the first time, SAP is enabling its customers to define data products from the core of their business processes and then make them available to analytics users in a harmonised and controlled manner.
Experts also know that SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP Datasphere are based and operated on the same technical basis. The bundled provision of both SAP Analytics offerings is a logical step and rounds off the Business Data Cloud.
In addition, existing SAP BW 7.5 & SAP BW/4 HANA can be transferred to SAP's cloud hosting and are then commercially and technically integrated into the cloud-native solutions. This increases cost transparency and simplifies administration.
