Mobiliar has almost 6,000 employees and is Switzerland’s oldest private insurance company. Its services encompass the insurance and pension business for customers in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. With a digitalisation initiative, Mobiliar continues to advance its digitalisation strategy by modernising its entire system landscape, preparing it for the future with a micro-services architecture. Accelerating the end-to-end digitalisation in the non-life and life insurance divisions modernises the products and creates more efficient core processes while also enhancing the user-friendliness of the digital contact points for customers and employees.
“This digitalisation project has a new scope for us. Our team has the extremely exciting task of automating the billing for private legal protection insurance. We have developed code that spans the entire legal protection insurance contract, from concluding the contract via smartphone to issuing the policy, along with the premium and insurance period. The invoice is created and printed on this basis, with an SAP system running in the background. At the same time, a document is also generated which will be sent to customers electronically as a PDF in future. The goal is to complete the migration during the course of the year. To monitor the entire digitalisation project, the necessary work is distributed, planned and coordinated at quarterly meetings, currently held remotely, involving the 500 IT experts working on the project,” says scrum master Alexandra Windisch from adesso Austria, providing an insight into the project at Mobiliar.
Combined IT and engineering power
adesso Schweiz and adesso Austria were awarded the contract as part of a nearshoring selection process in autumn 2018. Since then, adesso’s eight-person team has been collaborating closely with two Mobiliar employees: a business analyst and a product owner.
