The partnership with DFB GmbH marks a continuation of adesso’s passion for IT and sport. As a strategic partner of the IT & Digital division of DFB GmbH, adesso will accompany DFB GmbH in terms of digital transformation until the end of 2025, following various individual pro-jects in the past years. The German football association has pooled its financial activities and digital business units, which encompass Marketing & Sales, IT & Digital and Events & Opera-tions segments, in a separate subsidiary since 2017.
In the IT & Digital segment, the DFB GmbH provides in-house applications and services that are used by the DFB’s own departments, state and regional football associations and more than 25,000 football clubs nationwide. IT & Digital also takes care of the DFB’s technical infra-structure and in-house software DFBnet, which offers a comprehensive IT solution for organ-ising and managing the association’s operations.
As a first task, adesso will assist in the further development of FUSSBALL.DE, the platform for news, match schedules and results of amateur soccer in Germany, and help develop a new online application for the “Torhüter Portal”. This DFB project involves collating and analysing performance data of the country’s best goalkeepers and identifying the most promising talents in this position in Germany. The aim is to pinpoint and support future professional footballers and continue to ensure that Germany produces world-class goalkeepers for its national teams.
Dr Frank Biendara, Managing Director of DFB GmbH, negotiated the deal: “This is the first time DFB GmbH has concluded a strategic partnership of this nature with an IT service pro-vider. The competent, reliable and trustworthy collaboration with adesso that we have experi-enced in individual projects over the past few years was a crucial factor in our decision. Be-sides IT consulting and service, adesso will also help us recruit IT experts for development, business analysis and project management.”
