Developing a digital commercial insurance provider

The goal of the newly founded andsafe AG was for companies and businesses to be able to purchase and conclude a business liability insurance contract online. In future, it should be possible to add additional products to the portfolio for commercial customers quickly and with little effort. Within the framework of an agile project environment, the task was to develop an online platform. In addition, associated BiPRO standards had to be implemented, savings bank organisations as well as exclusive sales organisations had to be connected and an intermediary portal had to be integrated.

At the same time, it is essential to rethink established internal processes, hierarchies or mindsets that say, ‘this is how we have always done it’. These lead to protracted development processes and unnecessarily long times to market. For agile approaches to be successful in a corporate environment, it is critical that their implementation is firmly anchored and lived out.

We use agile coaches, among other things, to help put this into practice. Our colleague Jenny Gursch provides insights into her role in the project.
