Central management reporting system

Merz Pharma relies on SAP solutions across the globe and had a wealth of data on its own supply chain at every site. At the same time, it lacked a method of comparing supply chains and products from its plants distributed around the world. However, the Group’s management needed a resilient and reliable database to be able to tap into the existing potential of these sites even more efficiently in the future.

adesso developed a central dashboard, making it possible to pool universal key performance indicators (KPIs) and display them in a clear overview. After designing and planning the project in cooperation with Merz’s specialist departments, adesso created a consolidated data model for determining KPIs. The dashboard was implemented using SAP Business Objects Design Studio 1.4, while the data model was developed using SAP BW 7.3.

Merz Pharma now enjoys a tailor-made business intelligence solution that provides management with all the relevant key figures for the supply chain. Decision-makers can access the dashboard at any time via the mobile version to retrieve and monitor KPIs – even on the go.

Overall, it was possible to save time in top management decision-making and achieve an improved performance for the SAP BW-based data model. Moreover, data quality was improved by consolidating data from SAP ERP modules and external sources, while agility in decision-making was boosted thanks to the mobile version of the dashboard.
