Michael Zorc (60), one of Germany’s most prominent former professional footballers, national team players and sporting directors, has joined the adesso Supervisory Board. After spending his entire professional career at Borussia Dortmund – lifting a number of major trophies in the process – Zorc is a rare breed in the sport. He played for BVB for 17 years, nine of which as club captain, before taking charge of Dortmund’s sporting operations, from the professional squad to youth teams, at the highest level of the Bundesliga club’s senior management. During his playing career, Zorc won the Bundesliga title twice (in 1995 and 1996) with Borussia, as well as the Champions League in 1997. Aside from his sporting prowess and financial acumen, Zorc gained an outstanding reputation as a fair and level-headed presence both on the pitch and, in his subsequent role as sporting director, in the board room.
