adesso’s Digital Day in Oberhausen has answers to important digitalisation questions

The IT service provider adesso AG is organising its first Digital Day, to be held on 22 September 2016 at Rheinisches Industriemuseum in Oberhausen. The event aims to look at who is investing in and benefiting from digitalisation – and who is on the losing end – while giving those responsible for digitalisation an opportunity to explore specific potential next steps and how to get people on board in the era of digitalisation.

Attendance is free of charge. adesso’s Digital Day is aimed at professionals and executives in sales, marketing, quality assurance, controlling and IT who are focused on issues such as the digital workplace, optimising business processes, modernising applications, Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things. Anyone already dealing with digitalisation, waiting to see how it develops or just sceptical about its implications is welcome to attend.

A fast-paced day guaranteed to be anything but boring awaits visitors in Oberhausen. Alongside presentations by high-profile experts, Digital Day will offer a wide range of additional events, including a business lunch, a guided tour through the analogue industrial past on display at the museum, engaging discussions and hands-on examples of digitalisation at the information booths. The adesso partners RealCore and K2 will join the organiser at the conference to present their products and services at their own booths, offering attendees access to the pooled expertise of three companies for answers to the digital challenge.

The programme includes presentations on the following topics and more:

Prof. Dr. Volker Gruhn, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of adesso and a professor at the University of Duisburg-Essen, will offer a glimpse into the demands and approaches associated with the digital transformation at companies. Torsten Hohendorff, Managing Director IT Organisation at Erste Abwicklungsanstalt, will talk about how the EAA has digitalised all records processes in the credit business.

In his presentation, Dr. André Hollstein, CIO Mobility at TÜV Rheinland, will explain how the digital transformation can increase employee productivity based on his own experience. Christian Gfüllner, Director Partner Team Unit at Microsoft Germany, will look at cloud technology as the driving force behind the digitalisation of companies and society.

In addition, musician Joey Kelly will talk about ways to make even the most ambitious goals a reality. He should know: the high-profile extreme athlete has run in over 100 marathons, ultramarathons and Ironman triathlons, having even competed at eight Ironman races in a single year – a record he holds to this day.

“Our Digital Day promises to be an enjoyable event with fascinating first-hand reports on process-related challenges, incredible technologies and digital transformation processes,” says Jens Spitczok von Brisinski, Head of Consulting at adesso. “For our participants, we have a tour through the analogue industrial world at the museum to inspire them, Joey Kelly to motivate them and our booths to inform them.”.
