The establishment of adesso Rostock marks a continuation of adesso’s expansion strategy. adesso prefers attractive, large cities where corporate clients and public administrations require modern digitalisation solutions and the IT experts of the future receive outstanding education and training. The nearby University of Rostock with its Information Technology and Computer Engineering faculties can provide exactly the kind of higher education adesso is looking for. The first set of student placements has already been arranged. adesso will work with Rostock Business, the business and technology promotion initiative for the Hanseatic City of Rostock, when it comes to networking with local businesses.
Besides developing individual, conventional software solutions for businesses, the focal point of the new office will be on application management and providing maintenance and support for the software systems and IT infrastructures used by businesses and administrative functions. Together with adesso’s sister site in Stralsund, the new office will become the Baltic Sea competence centre for application management.
Dirk Langner will take charge of the Rostock site. He was previously working as IT Manager at the Stralsund office, where he took care of key customers in the insurance segment. Langner underlines the ideal position of Rostock and the importance of the city in the Baltic coast area: “As the largest city in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Rostock is an attractive location for businesses that offers a high standard of living and excellent transport infrastructure in northern Germany thanks to its airport. Our concept of maximising our contact with customers and recent graduates works perfectly here. We look forward to enhancing the local business environment here.”
