adesso already took first place in 2016, 2018 and 2020 as Germany’s Best Employer in ITC in the large company category. Pothen describes the cross-industry award for Germany’s Best Employer 2023 in the new size category for over 5,000 employees as “a sensational win that exceeded our boldest expectations”, adding: “We are incredibly proud of our two prizes this year and see them as proof of our attractiveness as an employer. Our corporate culture is consistently oriented towards the interests of our employees. Our values such as respect and appreciation, credibility and trust, and fairness and a vibrant team spirit clearly make a sustainable contribution to a very positive working environment.”
Kristina Gerwert, Head of Human Resources at adesso, it is above all "the interaction of the manifold individual measures that result from the employee-oriented mindset and make adesso an attractive employer". These include a comprehensive training and education programme for both professional and personal development, with the chance for employees to gain certification, as well as family-friendly programmes, various measures to boost diversity and numerous events to foster a shared adesso culture. Gerwert: “The approval ratings from our employees have improved beyond the high scores of 2020. This is perhaps one of the biggest surprises to come out of this year’s competition for us, in light of the company’s rapid growth.”
As a digitalisation partner for business and administration, adesso has been on a dynamic growth trajectory for years, in terms of workforce, locations and sales. Since last receiving the award as Germany’s Best Employer in ITC and across all industries three years ago, in March 2020, the adesso Group has doubled its number of employees (from around 4,000 employees (in FTE) in 2020 to more than 8,000 (in FTE) throughout Europe today).
Six new adesso offices have been added in Germany in the last 15 months alone (in Saarbrücken, Dresden, Münster, Siegen, Kiel and Ulm), taking the total number of locations in the country to 33. The Group also continued expanding internationally in northern and southern Europe during the same period, with subsidiaries in Sweden, Denmark and Romania, taking the total of international sites to 60.
This year, 931 companies of all sizes and from all sectors took part in the prestigious employer competition. The best 100 companies were honored. The Great Place to Work® ratings are based on in-depth anonymous employee surveys on workplace issues such as trust in management, quality of collaboration, appreciation, identification, professional development opportunities, remuneration and work-life balance. The management is also always surveyed on the HR initiatives and offerings at the company.
