adesso boosts SAP segment with majority stake in QUANTO AG

adesso acquires about 72 % majority stake in QUANTO AG, an IT company specialising in SAP technology with headquarters in Hameln, Germany. QUANTO’s team of approximately 200 employees will be further boosted by an additional 100 SAP experts from adesso. The two companies will merge to form one of the leading SAP consulting companies in Germany as part of the adesso Group, and will subsequently be ramped up to employ at least 500 people. The QUANTO AG shares are set to transfer in full to adesso SE at the end of 2023.

Through this merger and the expertise provided by the QUANTO expert team, IT service provider adesso is reinforcing its SAP competency profile for its established core industries of banking/financial services and insurance, as well as for energy and utility companies, the manufacturing industry, automotive, public administration and healthcare in particular. In turn, QUANTO AG will benefit from being part of a leading international IT service provider, which currently employees some 5,000 people and is represented in 40 locations around Europe.

adesso and QUANTO will bring together their specialists under one roof in order to apply the SAP expertise of both SAP Gold Partners even more efficiently for the benefit of their customers. A team currently numbering around 100 SAP experts at adesso, specialised in consulting and development in the area of SAP ERP core products and industry solutions, will support and enhance the QUANTO team moving forward. The QUANTO locations will remain as they are. The new adesso subsidiary will also be supported by the SAP experts that adesso acquired this autumn through establishing its own office in Walldorf, Germany. At this location, in the immediate vicinity of the SAP headquarters, adesso’s SAP competence centre works closely with the global player SAP as technology partner.

Andreas Prenneis, member of the adesso SE Executive Board, explains the reasoning behind the decision for the most recent investment: “adesso and QUANTO already know each other from working together on major strategic projects for banks, insurance companies and in the energy industry. Our corporate cultures and working methods are perfectly aligned. The now established pooling together of our expertise produces a portfolio that increases our competitiveness. This also puts us in a position to handle the very large projects of corporate customers in the SAP segment.”

Frank Beck, one of the three managing partners on the Management Board of QUANTO, views this merger as a huge opportunity for his team: “By adding our support to the adesso Group, we will be able to position ourselves as the leading German SAP consulting company in the energy and financial services sectors in the future and also become a major player in the SAP core area. In the larger adesso-QUANTO group, we will become more visible in the market and increase our chances of participating as consultants in the dynamically growing SAP S/4 HANA market.”
