adesso and Blueteam offer jointly developed managed SIEM solution

Postponed but not cancelled: although the national implementation of the NIS2 Directive has been delayed, it is set to become important for all companies in the critical infrastructure sector (KRITIS) in the coming months. In the run-up to the E-world energy trade fair in Essen, IT service provider adesso and IT security specialist Blueteam are now presenting a further developed, cost-efficient Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solution. The managed SIEM solution is based on the Wazuh open-source technology and is provided via the BSI C5-certified adesso business cloud. While adesso is responsible for further development, maintenance and operation, Blueteam assumes the function of a security operations centre (SOC) as part of the partnership. The product is now available to companies in all industries.

Efficient early warning system for SMEs

As digitalization progresses, the convergence of information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) is accelerating. Critical infrastructure companies, including companies in the energy industry, have been confronted with a steadily growing number of attack vectors and cyberattacks for years. Transparency and speed of response are crucial to warding them off. The managed SIEM solution from adesso and Blueteam serves as an early-warning system, that detects cyberattacks at an early stage and enables proactive countermeasures to be taken before they can cause any damage. It is primarily aimed at small and medium-sized companies from regulated industries that require 24/7 monitoring of their IT and OT infrastructure. The offer from adesso and Blueteam is particularly attractive in terms of price: the highly standardised open-source solution does not incur any licence costs and is cost-effective to operate. In addition, integration as part of a managed security service model requires only a small investment.

Matthäus Kozlowski, Chief Operating Officer of Blueteam GmbH, says: “Together, we have developed a unique cyber security product that significantly strengthens and expands our and adesso’s position in the market for managed security services. Our customers will benefit from the special synergies of this partnership – while adesso contributes its technological know-how and industry expertise, our SOC experts can supplement their IT security expertise. This allows us to respond specifically to the individual requirements of companies.”

“The NIS2 Directive poses enormous challenges for small and medium-sized companies in the KRITIS environment, including many municipal utilities,” says Peter de Lorenzi, Business Area Lead for IT Consulting and Managed Services at adesso. “They are required to set up a system to protect their OT and IT infrastructure. Our managed SIEM solution, developed jointly with Blueteam and provided in the adesso business cloud, can be an important building block in this. As a core component of risk management, it detects threats and attacks at an early stage so that they can be defended against effectively and cost-efficiently.”

As part of the E-world energy trade fair, which takes place from 11 to 13 February in Essen, interested attendees can meet with cybersecurity experts from adesso and Blueteam (Booth C127, Hall 1) to discuss the new offering.
