E-World 2025 in retrospect – digitalisation, AI and the future of the energy industry

E-World energy & water 2025 has come to an end and has once again shown that it is irreplaceable as the central meeting place for the energy industry. From 11 to 13 February, the energy industry met in Essen to exchange ideas on the latest technologies, regulatory developments and innovative business models. This year, the focus was once again on transformation, digitalisation and sustainable solutions. adesso made a strong appearance and, together with partners, customers and interested parties, provided new impetus for the future of the industry.

SAP transformations: pioneering innovations

An outstanding example of a successful digital transformation in the energy industry is the implementation of SAP S/4HANA at Uniper. Uniper is the first company in the supplier market role to complete the transition – with significant support from adesso. Selective data transition enabled the efficient migration of existing processes and laid the foundation for a future-proof IT infrastructure. These and other projects were the subject of intensive discussions at the stand.

Artificial intelligence and GenAI in the energy industry

The rapid development of GenAI is opening up new opportunities for energy suppliers and municipal utilities. From optimising maintenance cycles and automating business processes to personalised customer communication, the applications are diverse. Visitors were able to learn about specific use cases and see how AI is permanently changing the industry right at the adesso stand.

Secure cloud solutions for a secure and flexible energy industry

MaKorakel – market communication made easy

Our GenAI-based chatbot, the MaKorakel, was a particular highlight. Market communication can be complex, but with intelligent support it can be made significantly more efficient. Visitors were able to experience live how the chatbot processes and prepares data formats in an understandable way and delivers answers in real time.

Best practices and showcase projects

In addition to innovative technologies, specific projects were also presented – from AI-supported energy management in the VideKIS project, digitalisation solutions like the adesso grid connection portal, to data-supported business models. The practical demonstrations, which showed how companies can successfully implement their digital transformation, were particularly well received.

E-World is not only a platform for technological innovations, but also for personal exchange and networking. Numerous expert discussions took place at the adesso stand – from strategic discussions about the future of the energy industry to concrete project proposals. The trade fair offered the perfect opportunity to make new contacts and deepen existing partnerships.
