Thanks to this equity investment, adesso’s portfolio now includes the m2m-Monitor platform developed by com2m. This is available as software-as-a-service and allows for efficient digital connectivity between machines and devices. Unlike individual solutions, M2M solutions can be quickly and easily set up with the platform. This significantly lowers the entry barriers for the digitalisation of services and processes, making it attractive not only for large companies, but for small and medium-sized companies as well.
As the monitoring, control and maintenance of machines, processes and systems can be carried out in real-time with the m2m-Monitor, the platform allows adesso to reach a market which was previously only accessible to a limited degree. This market also includes the mechanical engineering sector, for example, which comprises just under 7,000 companies in Germany alone. In cooperation with other companies of the adesso Group, com2m can now realise a broader range of Industry 4.0 applications such as solutions that enable maintenance forecasts or solutions that support completely new business models with complete services for industrial plants.
com2m has been on the market since 2013 and has already attracted a lot of attention with its M2M platform and innovative approaches to Industry 4.0. In 2014, the company received an “eco Internet Award” and was one of the winners of the Dortmund-based start-up contest “start2grow”. Through adesso’s investment, Dr. Josef Brewing, Managing Director of adesso mobile solutions, is now also a new CEO at com2m. He manages the company together with the two presiding CEOs of com2m, Dr. Martin Peters and Stefan Sachweh.
