New Construction of a POS Sales Platform


Prior to the project start in 2006, the field service of Generali Germany used a historically grown field service system which was characterised by migrations. Handling and ergonomics as well as process continuity between sales and operation can be optimised. Therefore, the company opted for a completely novel construction of a POS sales platform for all sales channels (agents, its own field service).The chosen architecture had to be an Always Online System without hybrid functions.

adesso brought the necessary knowledge and experience gained from projects handling in comparable tasks concerning sales portals into the project . Due to their professional competence and industry-specific experience the adesso consultants provided support regarding the requirement management, the object-oriented professional design as well as the creation of a specialised architecture. Furthermore, adesso cooperated in establishing the new authorisation system, which is a sensitive topic in the POS environment. From mid-2008 on, adesso’s support enabled a gradual rollout of the solution within the group.
